Gays welcome at holiday “Matzo Ball”
Boston’s 14th annual Matzo Ball is set for Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, at Avalon, and this time organizers are making it known that gays and goys (non-Jews) are welcome. “Matzo Ball is actually open to everyone.… You don’t have to be Jewish, straight, single, or whatever to attend,” said event organizer and local entrepreneur Andy Rudnick. According to Rudnick, last year’s event attracted some 2,500 partygoers. Over the past 13 years, over 1,000 marriages have resulted from singles meeting at this event.
