Oy to the world
For Christians the world over, Christmas Eve means being trapped for endless hours with the family while listening to Hall and Oates sing Christmas carols. But for local Jews, Christmas Eve is a pony of an entirely different hue. While Christians smile stiffly in uncomfortable sweaters at home, Hasidic hotties will be bumping and grinding at clubs all over town. The biggest of these parties is the annual Matzo Ball, which happens tonight at 8 at Avalon. It's a veritable kosher meat market of singles looking for that special someone set to a Euro house soundtrack. Tickets are $25. Avalon, 15 Lansdowne St., 617-262-2424.
