The 18th Annual Matzo Ball Rolls Into 13 Cities Across the United States and Canada

Boston, MA - November 15, 2004 - The Society of Young Jewish Professionals announced today that the annual Matzo Ball will hit 13 cities in both the United States and Canada. Going on its 18th year, the Matzo Ball has kept its reputation as "the nation's #1 holiday party", as named by USA Today.

Andrew Rudnick, founder of SYJP and the Matzo Ball, conceived of the event one Christmas Eve when he was debating between the only two options available that night: go out for Chinese food and a movie, or order take out and rent one. After realizing that there were thousands of single, young, Jewish professionals like himself looking for something else to do, he created the Matzo Ball.

Going from a single event in Boston 18 years ago to a huge party spanning two countries, Andrew Rudnick says, "After getting so much positive feedback, I had to set up the event in a number of cities around the country so Jews everywhere would have a fun, comfortable environment to meet and mingle." This event has been so successful in bringing people together that over 1000 marriages have taken place as a result. In fact, Rudnick met his wife at the Matzo Ball.

Matzo Ball parties will be held at Compound in Atlanta, Avalon in Boston, Club Boca in Boca Raton, Betty's Blue Star Lounge in Chicago, Diva Lounge in Montclair, NJ, Mission in NYC, Opium Garden in Miami, Glam in Philadelphia, Ruby Skye in San Francisco, Watertown in Seattle, Monkey Club in West Palm Beach, West in Toronto and Lulu's in Washington D.C.
